- RED Digital Workflow
- The RED ONE camera uses digital files which requires some
modification
to traditional production and post production workflows. When
implemented correctly, the digital workflow offers unprecedented
capabilities and flexibility. If carried out correctly, it offers less
risk to footage than the film workflow.
- Pre-production
I providing RED services for features, commercials and specialfx
projects, and are available to consult with producers, editorial and
camera departments starting from pre-production.
A mistake can be costly. A well-planned workflow in pre-production -
knowing all the options available - is essential to any digital
production.
- On set / On location
On set I do Data Wrangling. Once the data is handed over by the camera
assistant I will copy it onto two separate hard drives for backup. This
ensures against media failure. I check for data integrity and human
error. Once cleared the media is erased and returned to the camera
assistant for reuse.
I take advantage of the RED workflow, making post production elements
immediately available on the day - allowing same day dailies with
colour management, logging of data, transcoding, tape transfers and
footage archiving onto data tape. An archived back-up tape can then be
shipped to a secure place.
- Post-production
I offers a path to conform your off-line EDL in native RED Code RAW,
and export 2K or 4K DPX files with embedded timecode for colour
correction to any finishing system.
